Sunday is a happy day to dance!

Now, this would be wierd. I am now in a cyber cafe in The Summit, USJ. It would be so rare to write a blog on an open cafe (as if). Anyway, I never tell anyone about what happen today (except Abby, Shieko, Iwas & Amyza who know about this). I had participate in 'National Hip Hop Dance Challenge' organized by V Dance Space school of Dance at the main stage inside the Summit mall. In fact, I was the first contestant to open the show. I had selected 'Janet Jackson - All Night' as my dance track. It's one of the most nervous event I had ever participate, to imagine more than 200 people watching at you. But I pass all the obsticle. Most important, I enjoyed it and I am so happy to be able to join among the youngsters. It make me feel better because I finally get to meet people with similiar interest. Dance has always been fun and entertaining. I like the response from the participants because they were really supportive among each other (although each and every one of them are rivals) :P

They had selected 10 finalist out of 20. It was good to see their joyful faces because of their effort and their choreography routine that they had been practicing (at least one week), I just do spontanously, freestyle. Well, I never hope to get on the finalist because the reason I join was just to get exposure, contacts and fun! I achieve what I'm doing here today! Thanks to all who had been so friendly, especially Aiman (the guy who won the MTV Malaysia: VJ Hunt). His move is awesome. Well, no suprise cause I've seen him perform in huge crowd, so his level of confidence is really major! To Jessie, and few other judges including the MC had commented on my dance and I got it. I feel that would be enough for me. I forgot that guy (the judge, famous choreographer's) name, however, I remember I used to see him dance on a Code 10 ad back in 1990's when I was in Taman Pelangi, Johor Bahru. Teringat zaman-zaman C&C Music Factory douwwhhh...

Thos who are selected for the finalist had already been familiar with the hip-hop scene, and 99% of the individual open also came from open crew (b-boys & girls). I ask few of them and they were like 21 years old. The oldest is 24. Hmm... like aren't there any of my age? But I felt young lah..

Sailing All The Way

I had such a great time last weekend, I met Shieko and Iwas for yamcha yesterday at Hartamas, and went shopping for computer hardware with Abby earlier. I upgraded my workstation to 1.2GB of DDRM. Man, that's like opening Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, iTunes and my Firefox at the same time. Yippie! No more worries! I'm now waiting for my 'MADtv - The Best of Seasons 8, 9 & 10' that would be probably arrive next week. Other than that, I had ordered 'X-Men: Generation X' paperback comic that features my favourite X-Men series, The Phalanx Covenent'.

Wait'n.

Kota Singa: Part II

I went to Singapore last weekend to see Orkibal’s solo exhibition in Warong M.Nasir, and then hang out with ARTVST in Arab Street and went shopping in Orchard Street. I bought a black iPod Nano for RM570. FYI, In Malaysia, Apple retail price for 1GB of iPod Nano is RM709. There’s a lot of price difference compared here and there, so I encourage you to buy in Singapore if you have the chance. Anway, you can check out VDSoul’s blog for more coverage and photos of the Singapore trip. Overall, it was fun and it was nice meeting my Singaporean friends again. To Killergerbil, Sue and Sulaiman (Phuek), thank you guys. You guys make me so comfortable. Again, thanks to all, my roommates Shieko and Iwas.

Work Updates

I had recently finished my work on the Saladin website, working side by side with the talented Mr. Aizil. It was cool to finally have a working web work, no more mocks, rejections and no trust in giving ownership from my previous company. I had also been doing a commission job from United States firm called I-D-E-A, a project for SIRIM (Malaysia) on a cool web clock application.

Credit Cards Are Men Best Friend

For more pics of my stuff / cribs, visit my fotopages here.

I purchased a DVD player that supports .avi (divx) and.mpeg files. So, I spent my whole three weeks watching anime (like Ergo Proxy, Eureka Seven, Naruto, etc) and movies I bought from friends and purchased from Amazon (MadTV, In Living Color, Girl 6). Additional to that, I had received my order of Happy Tree Friends Overkill DVD box set. So cute! In fact, it was indeed brutally creative. I’m currently waiting for my Threadless tees I had ordered earlier this month. I’m quite happy that I finally get to clear off one of my credit card and my Telekom phone bill! This week, I had renewed my car insurance, road tax, income tax (whoops! Missed it), I’m also waiting for my computer to be repaired that I send last week at the Acer centre. I’m looking forward to buy the new MacBook 13”. I haven’t physically seen the black one, but I still prefer the white one. I'm seriously buying one of those babies.

I had successfully gained 1.5 kilos as a result to my constant workout at the gym. All around, my life is fulfilling and I’m looking forward to stay more positive.

'Komplenn':
Why does music piracy evolve more in Asian countries?
Napster.com:
We're sorry but you cannot purchase tracks from outside the United States.
I just purchase 2 DVD from Amazon. One is the hard-to-find-in-here ‘Girl Six’ played by Theresa Randle and MadTV Season One BoxSet. Anyway, Why does music piracy evolve more in Asian countries? Because when I register to Apple iTunes, they only support selected countries, none support Singapore or Malaysia. PayPal doesn’t allow their Malaysian customers to take out cash from PayPal account. Amazon only allows us Asian to order 2 items, or else, other items we order will be charge with different shipping. How lousy is that? Now, since Malaysia have very bad resource in old-school music, I’m trying to get the CD by Few Good Men, those who knows jack swing and the early 90’s R&B would be familiar to this group. So what choices we Asian have? BitTorrent, LimeWire for illegal downloading. So what’s the use I have a credit card and trying hard to support anti-piracy campaign when they don’t allow us to do so. You, US online companies (such as Apple or Yahoo! Music) at first place doesn’t give any privilege for us Asian to benefit your business opportunities. Ah’m spent!

By the way, wonderful items to come this June which includes; MadTV Complete first season, Girl 6, Happy Tree Friends Overkill Boxset, Shifty Cut-up figurine, Nutty freshener, 4 threadless tee's and iPod. Yeay!

If you like Happy Tree Friends, don't forget to download the hi-res poster [here]. Don't forget guys, til 8th of May, you are able to buy threadless t-shirt for amazing USD$10 (that's RM36) per t-shirt. View and start ordering at Threadless website! A big thanks to Nizam Zakaria for promoting my work. Gracias! and I would like to give a big congratulations to my friend, Isma Yussof, who won the Cameronian award for his design (to beat DDB Malaysia).
